I just found out in the alumnus Perspective that one of my very favorite instructors has passed away, Nov. 6 2005.
He used to call me 'Young Furnish'. I'm extremely upset that I will never get to visit him should I ever get to the campus, and it makes me feel VERY bad that I never have gotten back since graduating with my second degree there in '94 (my first was in '88).
His specialty was British Literature, particularly Renaissance, 16/17th Century, Shakespeare. I took 17th Century Literature with him as well as a Shakespeare course. He made me much of the teacher that I am. I will ALWAYS be grateful to him.
I have lost ALMOST ALL of my professors at LHU. ALMOST ALL of them have passed away! There are VERY FEW left! What few are left are retired. Should I revisit LHU, there would be an almost entirely different faculty.
This is a very difficult thing for me because virtually my entire family is also dead. What a predicament!
Well, this happens to some of us, and I suppose I'll have to build my whole own world. With no plans to have children, I'm going to have to become a lot more social!
